Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you so that we can quote for, plan, agree, and carry out building works for you, and to invoice you.

We also receive personal information indirectly from online marketplaces where potential customers look for building trades people.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing this information is:

• We have a contractual obligation. – we have to collect or use the information so we can enter into and carry out a contract with you.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored in our estimates and invoicing system.

• We keep quotes that do not result in a contract for 3 months.
• We keep invoices for completed work for 6 years to comply with accounting rules.

We will then dispose of this information by deleting it from the system.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

• A copy of your personal information.
• Correction or completion of inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Erasure of your personal information.
• Restriction of the processing of your personal information.
• Objection to the processing of your personal information.
• Transfer of the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you.

BAMBOO SOLUTIONS ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

At Bamboo Solutions it’s our policy to do all that’s reasonably practicable to:

• Reduce the level of energy consumption:

• We’ll consider the use of renewable or sustainable energy sources.
• We’ll buy energy-efficient equipment when older equipment is retired.

• Obtain utility and hardware supplies from environmentally friendly organisations and those who use renewable energy sources.

• Recycle equipment, waste products and redundant items.

• Reduce the consumption of consumables.

• Use, store, control and dispose of hazardous materials in line with best environmental practices.

• Conserve water.

• Aim to reduce pollution and actively pursue reduction in the use of substances, processes and procedures that adversely affect the environment.

• Ensure employees and / or subcontractors are aware of our environmental policy and comply with the measures in place and:

• don’t interfere with anything provided to protect the environment.
• report all environmental concerns to a manager or supervisor.

We’ll identify and evaluate environmental risks and ensure that appropriate measures are in place for both our storage locations and the specific sites where we are working.

BAMBOO SOLUTIONS HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

Introduction

This is the Health and Safety Policy of Bamboo Solutions Building Groundworks Ltd (Bamboo Solutions).

Bamboo Solutions is a small builder. We carry out construction work on:

• Domestic projects – involving construction work on the homes of domestic clients. Bamboo Solutions has responsibility for site health and safety for our work on these projects.

• Small commercial projects – involving short duration construction work for business clients. For these projects, site health and safety responsibilities are shared between Bamboo Solutions, the business client and any other contractors involved.

Our Contractor Responsibilities

Our overall goal for Bamboo Solutions is to prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health. On all projects we will:

• Plan, manage and monitor all work carried out by us and our workers, taking into account the risks to anyone who might be affected by it (including members of the public) and the measures needed to protect them.
• Check that all workers we employ or appoint have the skills, knowledge, training and experience to carry out the work, or are in the process of obtaining them *.
• Make sure that all workers under our control have a suitable, site-specific induction
• Provide appropriate supervision, information and instructions to workers under our control.
• Provide and maintain safe plant and equipment.
• Ensure safe handling and use of substances.
• Ensure we do not start work on site unless reasonable steps have been taken to prevent unauthorised access.
• Ensure suitable welfare facilities are provided from the start for workers under our control, and maintain them throughout the work.

• We will ensure that individuals working for Bamboo Solutions on construction work have an up to date Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Green Card.

Projects Involving Multiple Contractors

Where Bamboo Solutions is part of a domestic project involving more than one contractor and we are the principal contractor, we will take on the client H&S duties and the other contractors will work to us as the client.

If the domestic client does not appoint a principal contractor, for our phase of the construction we will act as the principal contractor and carry out the client duties.

Where Bamboo Solutions is working on commercial projects involving more than one contractor we will comply with directions given by the principal contractor and the parts of the construction phase plan relevant to our work.

Accidents and Near Misses

In the event of a workplace accident Bamboo Solutions will take the following steps:

• Seek medical attention if needed.
• Complete an accident form.
• Report the injury if necessary (full RIDDOR report).

We will also record near misses i.e. incidents that have the potential to cause, but do not actually result in human injury.

We will assess the causes of any accidents or near misses and take steps to help prevent recurrence.

First Aid

Bamboo Solutions will ensure that the lead person on site holds an up to date first aid certificate.
